The picture of this impressive hosta was taken in Arboretum Trompenburg during the Dutch Hosta Society Day. A giant hosta, it has green leaves with deeply impressed veins. The leaves have something graceful. It is early to emerge in Spring.

'Big Boy' was originated by Lucille Simpers and registered in 1980. Without doubt it has a montana background, probably montana f. macrophylla/montana 'Praeflorens'.
