Descriptions (from various sources):
A sturdy little fellow who can take a lot of heat. It is a small fast grower and is variegated green/yellow. It has not been widely available. Sold at the AHS national auction two years ago for $450.
Newer small hosta from Dr. Benedict named after past president of the AHS, long dark green leaves with a creamy-white margin that ripples slightly have good substance and seem to do well a sunnier location; lavender flowers appear in midsummer.
This is really a cute little thing...that's the hosta, not Bob! The first time I saw this Herb Benedict introduction, I knew I had to have it. This distinctive looking small hosta makes a 1' wide semi-upright mound of narrow rippled foliage. Each thick leaf is dark green with a dramatic wide creamy golden border. In late summer, the fast-growing clumps are topped with 16" tall scapes with medium purple flowers. FYI, Bob Olson of Minnesota is the past president of the American Hosta Society
