=H. 'Thomas Hogg' (536-HN).
As the story goes, Thomas Hogg imported it in North America (1875) after obtaining it from street vendors in Yokohama.
JN: Otafuku Giboshi = "moon-faced (rounded) hosta".

It is probably the first hosta to come directly from Japan into the United States. Moderately stoloniferous, a single plant will in time spread into large colonies. Its species epithet was derived from decorus = nice, ornate. (Plant 18x12)
