Iwa Giboshi / H. longipes 'Rashao'.
This variety from Tochigi Prefecture is a selection from Iwa Giboshi seedlings. Leaves, petioles and roots are all as hard as a rock. The bumps on leaves are deeper than those of regular Rasha** leaf. This is a masterpiece, with Its leaf color somewhat subdued, that gives you a sense of Japanese traditional beauty wabi - sabi. Its growth rate is very slow and propagation is difficult, which makes it very hard to find .
**W. George Schmid describes Rasha leaf as: "Uniquely contorted leaf with an unevenly knotty and knurled surface texture".
