This is a small hybrid from Mark Zillis, a cross between H. rupifraga and 'Shining Tot'.
Intermediate between both parents: low and blooms like 'Shining Tot', the scape is red like rupifraga. The foliage is dark green and very shiny, about 4-5" long and 1½-2" wide, lance-shaped with a long point. Purple flowers on showy, bright red scapes.
Bright red flower stems. Pod sterile, might be pollen fertile.
According to Mark Zilis it was hybridized in 1987, introduced in 1995 and registered in 1999.
Glossy olive-green; thick, widely lanceolate, pointed leaves; purple-red petioles, scapes. Purple-striped lavender flowers.
